Slip and fall: what property owners owe visitors
By Anil Deshmukh
5 min read

Owners and operators of shops, car parks and apartment blocks generally owe visitors a reasonable level of care. The detail depends on your state.
What we look for
Whether the owner knew of the hazard, or should have known about it, and how long it was there. Cleaning logs and camera footage often decide the question.
Why speed matters
Footage and logs are overwritten. The sooner a request to keep them is sent, the better the chance they still exist.
